Stamford's First Week of 2014 in Review

A look back at all the news that happened this week.

Welcome to 2014!

By far, the biggest news outside of the calendar rolling over was the winter storm Hercules doing some rolling of its own. It closed school early on Thursday and canceled it completely Friday. It affected train line schedules and forced the opening of warming centers due to extremely low temperatures. If you got any great shots of Thursday's storm, be sure to share them!

In Stamford emergency services news, the fire department asked residents to join up with its new Adopt-a-Hydrant initiative just in time for the snow, a city man was charged with burglarizing his Norwalk ex-girlfriend's house, and a Stamford man was charged in Darien with driving his SUV over a station wagon,
