Stamford Week in Review

A look at the top news for the past week.

In case you missed a day, here's a quick roundup of all the lead stories from Stamford this week. There's always a lot going on, so take this opportunity to catch up if you missed something!

State test scores were returned this week, and while Superintendent Dr. Winnie Hamilton was satisfied with the improvements shown, particularly in high school-level CAPT scores and the five-year improvements seen, it brought to the table the topic of Core Curriculum. Not everyone is excited about the move to the new system

We got to take a first-hand peek at some of the locally-grown fresh food being prepared right in Stamford for Restaurant Weeks this year, and talked to some of the farmers providing food for the table.

In police news, one woman was charged in an incident in which she was allegedly attempting to let the air out of her cousin's tires with a twig—a cousin who'd been letting the suspect sleep on her couch. And a Stamford man was arrested and charged with illegal possession of two handguns and desertion charges from the U.S. Army

And for some good, clean summer fun, check out this video of Stamford Boys & Girls Club members getting out and having a blast with volunteers from Coca Cola, all part of a fitness awareness day.
