Stamford Week in Review

A look at the top news from the last week.

In case you missed a day, here's a quick roundup of all the lead stories from Stamford this week. There's always a lot going on, so take this opportunity to catch up if you missed something!

In community news, Stamford officials and members of the city's emergency services took the time to remember 9/11 on Wednesday. On Thursday, close to two dozen folks went rappelling down 15 stories in Stamford's Harbor Point to help raise money for Special Olympics Connecticut and we were able to take some video of the trek down. 

In political news, David Martin won the Stamford Democratic primary election on Tuesday over opponent Rep. William Tong. By Wednesday morning, Martin and Republican nominee Michael Fedele were already declaring certain victory over the other for the city's top seat. 

In police news, a big story in neighboring Greenwich was the arrest of a man on attempted murder charges for allegedly bludgeoning his estranged wife with a baseball bat. In Stamford, a man was arrested after a gun with an altered serial number and a ski mask were found in a backpack in the car in which he was traveling. Finally, Stamford Animal Control warned about leaving pets locked in cars even as temperatures steadily drop.
