Stamford Hospital Launches Online Community for Moms [Updated w/Video]

Stamford Hospital launched "The Mommylogues" on August 1st, an online community for Stamford's mothers and expecting mothers.

launched a new online community on Monday, created by mothers and for mothers.

"Stamford Hospital is excited to announce the launch of 'The Mommylogues',  an interactive online community for moms and moms-to-be," Stamford Hospital announced in a press release.

"The first of its kind in Connecticut, “The Mommylogues” follows the day-to-day experiences of six Fairfield County women who delivered at Stamford Hospital and covers anything and everything relating to motherhood."

According to a press release, The Mommylogues will also also have "posts and information directly from Stamford Hospital’s obstetricians, pediatricians, maternal-child nurses and lactation consultants."

“Every mom, whether she is a first-timer or not, has questions at one point or another. The Mommylogues is a place where women can follow the stories of our six featured moms, as well as ask questions, get advice and share their own experiences,” said Maternal Health administrator Kathleen LiVolsi.

The Mommylogues website is tied into social media such as Twitter and Facebook, allowing Stamford moms to blog to each other in addition to taking advice from The Mommylogues "OB Experts".

The Mommylogues is completely non-profit and apparently ad-free.

“It’s a great way for the community to interact and also to learn more about the wide variety of OB support and services, from pre-conception through delivery and beyond, that are offered by Stamford Hospital," LivVolsi said.
