Meet Nick Oslander, self-described "pirate without a boat."
He was at the Stamford Police Department Monday doing some technical systems work, and he brought his big anchor belt buckle and colorful sidekick with him.
Osiris is a parrot who will be 15 months old on the 26th of May, Oslander said.
The police scolded Oslander for leaving Osiris in the car for a time, so he brought the bird into the station.
"They're used to a certain amount of heat, being a jungle species," he said, but didn't mind hanging with his buddy while he worked.
"You don't just buy one on a whim. They take a lot of time, attention and care," Oander said. "He's very spoiled."
