Local NAACP Plans “Stop the Violence - We are Trayvon” Rally in Stamford

Stamford and Norwalk branches of the NAACP plan a "Stop the Violence - We are Trayvon" rally on Saturday, July 27th at 12:00 noon in Stamford.

The Stamford and Norwalk branches of the NAACP are collaborating on a “Stop the Violence - We are Trayvon” rally.  The rally is scheduled for Saturday, July 27th at 12:00 noon at the corner of Richmond Hill and Rose Park Ave. in Stamford.

The rally, according to the NAACP, is in response to the not guilty verdict delivered for George Zimmerman, the volunteer Florida neighborhood watchman acquitted in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, an unarmed teenager, after an altercation between the two last year.

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.
