Three Stamford Veterans Receive Recognition For Contributions To Wounded Troops

Justin Hart, the Associate National Service Director of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), presented Stamford Disabled American Veterans Chapter 13 members Vic Carroll (Sr. Vice Commander), Capt. Tim Huff (Jr. Vice Commander) and Al  Meadows (Adjutant and Treasurer), and 3 other Connecticut veterans with a plaque from DAV National Headquarters, during their November 4th visit. The plaque was in recognition of Operation Gift Cards’ 100th visit to the Walter Reed National Military Hospital at Bethesda, Maryland. Al Meadows is the creator and Chairman of Operation Gift Cards.
The six veterans who participated in the 100th visit have led their respective organization’s participation in OGC. Sixth-eight organizations have co-sposored Operation Gift Cards visits during the last 8 years while distributing over $732,000 in Post exchange gift cards and corporate donations to the wounded troops and their families.
