SUnday Jazz Concert at the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens

The Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens proudly hosts Connecticut’s own Galvanized Jazz Band on Sunday July 7th, at 5 pm at the Bartlett Arboretum.  The Galvanized Jazz Band is part of the Bartlett’s Summer Concert series, and all are invited to attend.

The Galvanized Jazz Band is a dynamic group of Connecticut musicians devoted to the energetic performance of hot Dixieland, New Orleans jazz, blues, rags, stomps, struts, spirituals, swing, and classic popular songs from the past century. The photo below gives some indication of how people of all ages and backgrounds respond to our music. In addition to public concerts, private parties, weddings, funerals, school programs and fund-raising events, we perform at Jazz Festivals from Maine to New Orleans and throughout Europe. Connecticut Magazine recognized the Galvanized Jazz Band as the "Best Jazz Band in the State."  The regular members are Fred Vigorito on cornet, Ross Whitman on clarinet and saxophone, Bill Sinclair on piano, Arthur Harvey on tuba and string bass, and Bob Bequillard on percussion.  Tickets are $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers.  The concert will begin at 5 pm.

Additionally, the Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens is hosting its Sunday morning classical concerts with performances by students and graduates from the Yale School of Music.  This Sunday, we are proud to host percussionists Mari Yoshinaga and Garrett Arney.  Sunday morning concerts start at 10 am.  The cost is free for members and $6 ground admissions for nonmembers.
