Stamford Man Hits the Jackpot—Wins $1,000,000 Lottery Prize

A winning symbol match on a CT Lottery “$1,000,000 Jackpot” ticket turned Stamford resident Adil Nagiev instantly into a $1,000,000 top prize winner.

Nagiev’s winning ticket was purchased at For Your Convenience, located at 135 Prospect Street in Stamford.  Paresh Patel, owner of For Your Convenience, was simply ecstatic when he learned from Lottery officials that his store sold a $1,000,000 prize winning ticket.

“I finally got a $1,000,000 winner,” exclaimed Patel.  “I’m just so blown away.  Anytime my customers play lottery I always tell them, ‘Your win is my success.’”

For selling Nagiev his winning ticket, For Your Convenience will receive a $10,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery.

Given the choice between the game’s $1,000,000 20-year annuity prize or the cash lump sum value prize, Nagiev opted for the lump sum in a check for $790,900 (before taxes).

Nagiev is in good company—two others before him, Phuc Bui of Torrington and Daniel DiBella of Newington, were also lucky $1,000,000 winners in the $1,000,000 Jackpot game.

The overall chances of winning a prize in the $10 instant game $1,000,000 Jackpot are 1 in 3.80.  Of the 4 top prizes in the game, 1 remains to be claimed.
