Stamford Hospital's Dream Ball Gala Celebrates Achievements, Raises Over $700,000

With the combined support of more than 800 attendees, as well as dozens of supporters and sponsors, Stamford Hospital’s ninth annual Dream Ball gala has raised over $700,000 this year. All proceeds generated by the event directly support patient-centered care and the vital programs at Stamford Hospital.

The early November event celebrated the Hospital and its many achievements of the past year, in particular breaking ground on the new Stamford Hospital. The décor included photos of the ongoing construction and the fundraising staff was easily recognizable by their Stamford Hospital-inscribed hard hats.

Attendees had the chance to rub elbows with celebrities throughout the evening, including special guest and emcee Jeff Rossen, National Investigative Correspondent for NBC’s Today Show and leader of the “Rossen Reports” investigative unit.

Following an emotional and heart-warming personal story by Dream Ball committee member Jamie Krug, whose son required immediate resuscitative care at birth, guests participated in a paddle raise to help support the purchase of additional state-of-the-art equipment for the Hospital’s Level IIIB Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Guests also had the opportunity to do some bidding on a silent auction and then got on their feet and danced to the tunes of the Doo Wop Project. Conceived backstage at The August Wilson Theater in Manhattan, home of the Jersey Boys, these five stars have been or are currently cast members of Broadway's Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys, and have a number of other Broadway hits under their belts including leading roles in HairsprayLes Miserables, Sister Act and Motown: The Musical

“We are so grateful to all of those who make the evening possible – from our amazing Dream Ball committee to our sponsors and all of the attendees,” said Christopher Riendeau, Senior Vice President, Fund Development, Stamford Hospital and Executive Director of Stamford Hospital Foundation. “It is a very special evening and it is humbling to see such a grand show of support from our donors, physicians, staff and members of the community, whose generosity will help us build and sustain our new hospital for generations to come.”
