How About Some Hockey

Wednsday night the New York Islanders will face off against the New York Rangers at Yankee stadium. That night no less then eight of the Islanders can say they have ties to Bridgeport. The Bridgeport Sound Tigers are the minor league affiliate of the Islanders and it's their job to make these players into NHL players. At the same time they are playing a level of hockey that is as fast as you will see short of the NHL.
Hockey is a huge youth sport here in Fairfield county and young aspiring players can see the pro game up close at a Sound Tiger game. We started going when our son was 7 yrs old and playing fr Stamford Youth Hockey. I can honestly say the Sound Tiger games fueld his love for hockey and now at age 20 he is playing Junior Hocey in Canada. As a hockey parent and a hockey fan I can't say enough about the excitement of going to a game. These are family events geared towards familys and children and the Arena is a first class building. There isn't a bad seat in the house.
As you watch the outdoor game and you get a feeling of wanting to see more think about a trip to Bridgeport for a Sound Tiger game or up to Hartford for a Wolfpack game. The guys you see on the ice at these games you may very well see on tv in the future.
