CLC at William Pitt Center Awash in Color for "Week of the Young Child"

The bright blue sky was nearly the same shade of blue as the shirts on the children from Cluster D at CLC at the William Pitt Center in Stamford. The early education center held a “Rainbow Parade” on Thursday, April 10, that circled the track at Stamford High School as part of “Week of the Young Child” festivities. The children carried banners, water bottle maracas, and handmade items that matched their cluster color.

More than 350 children, clad in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple shirts, took part in the “Rainbow Parade.”  The children are placed in cluster groups based on town geography.

The event, like many events around the state and country, was held to celebrate “Week of the Young Child,” an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The purpose is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
