Darien First Selectwoman Jayme Stevenson Endorses Stamford's Chris Meek for Congress

STAMFORD, Conn. – Darien First Selectwoman Jayme Stevenson has joined the growing list of people who have endorsed Chris Meek for Congress.   “As someone who has watched the career of Chris Meek shift to community needs and politics, I can say without hesitation he is prepared to be our next Congressman,” Stevenson said.

“Chris’ has built the necessary foundation of business leaders and community leaders to run a successful campaign. This race is going to be about how to
redefine the political agenda in Washington to help our communities in the 4th district.  Too many national policies are widely out of control.  Chris Meek has the solutions that the families in my hometown want enacted.”

"Chris has focused on building the Republican Party over the last couple of years.  Chris has been particularly successful reaching out to the Young  Republicans with the
founding of his Grand Young Party Organzation. He is the type of lead-by-example and caring leader that we need representing us in Congress,” Stevenson said.

“I am excited that I have earned Jayme Stevenson’s
endorsement.” Meek said.  “To have the support of someone who has dedicated her life to public service is humbling and brings us closer to defeating our opponent in November.”

Stevenson’s endorsement joins a growing list of prominent people supporting Chris Meek in his bid to become the 4th District’s congressman. Already supporting Meek are Mayor Michael Pavia of Stamford, former Lieutenant Governor Mike Fedele, State Representative Terrie Wood (R-141), State Representative Livvy Floren (R-149), State Representative Mike Molgano (R-146), Assistant Republican Leader in the Connecticut House of Representatives DebraLee Hovey (R-112), Greenwich Selectman David N. Theis, State Central Member Eva Maldonado, Stamford Republican Town Committee Chairman Jerry Pia and the Stamford Police Union.
