On the 40th anniversary of George Lucas' American Graffiti, the Avon Theater is hosting a special screening of the film at 7:30 p.m., with a reception and costume contest preceding the event starting at 6 p.m. First Prize: $500 Avon Bronze Carte Blanche membership.

Visit Country Night at Dance With Me Stamford, located at 20 Summer Street, starting at 8:30 p.m. and wear your best pair of dancin' boots. The best country outfit wins one private lesson. 

The Man Who Knew Too Much is playing at the Ferguson Library Wednesday at 1 p.m., and the library is also hosting the Summer Reading Club Finale Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
