Goings-on In & Around Stamford Tuesday

Hey Stamford, a mostly sunny 67 degrees Tuesday with a 20-percent chance of showers during the day gives way to late showers in the evening with a temperature of 42 degrees, according to Weather.comTide charts show low tide hitting around 8:03 a.m. and 8:38 p.m. and high tide at around 1:55 a.m. and 2:06 p.m.

The Stamford Board of Representatives Parks & Rec Committee meets on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Republican Caucus Room on the 4th floor of the Stamford Government Center and there's a regular Board of Eduction meeting at 7 p.m. on the 5th floor. 

At the Ferguson Library, there are Medicare & Medicaid counseling sessions from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the language-practicing group Let's Talk meets  from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both events take place at the main library branch downtown. 

In neighboring New Canaan, Dr. Janette Alvarez stops by the Village Critter Outfitter to discuss pet obesity as part of Pet Wellness Month. Topics include ways to prevent obesity and help your pet shed some pounds if they're overweight. The whole thing kicks off at 6 p.m.
