Stamford police officers conducting a motor vehicle stop at 1:15 a.m. on Jefferson St. at Harborview Ave. discovered a suspect police recognized from prior incidents attempting to hide crack cocaine, they said Tuesday. Authorities approaching the vehicle during the stop discovered Jerrell Dennel Cook, 27, of the first block of Orchard St., sitting in the passenger's seat, police said. They alleged he was sitting on a bag of crack cocaine in an attempt to hide it. The driver gave a signed, sworn statement to police that Cook had attempted to sell him the drugs, police said. Two men were charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and felony larceny after leaving a lot of holes in their story, police said Monday. Stamford resident Luis Sarceno, 21, of 23 Wardwell St., and Kenneth Alfano, 20, of 26 Commerce St. in Norwalk, were arrested in connection to an incident where storm drain covers were going missing from around Shippan Point, according to authorities. Sarceno and Alfano are alleged to have traveled to Norwalk after lifting the storm drain covers—four in total—where they attempted to turn them in at a junkyard facility, police said. According to …
A woman reporting vandalism to her brand new 2012 Chevy Cruze at around 2:30 p.m. Sunday did a bit of her own investigative police work before officers arrived. The woman reportedly discovered the car, which she had left parked on the street near the St. John's Towers, covered in dents to the trunk, roof and other areas of the body, surrounded by rocks, police said. A man who cut the electrical wires to the main breaker of a home in the first block of Lincoln Ave. then proceeded to cut live wires in the basement as well because he said he "needed to kill the lights," police said Tuesday. Authorities said that man, Charles Dunois, 37, faces 10 counts of reckless endangerment and 3 counts of injury to a child because the lines he cut were near three different rooms of the basement of the dwelling. Victor Bejarando, 46, of Whitmore Ln. was arrested and charged Wednesday afternoon with 2 counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor for an alleged relationship with a 14-year-old acquaintance. Authorities said Bejarando allegedly preyed on the child for 6 to 7 months before the relationship was discovered. A man walking down Frederick Street reported an attempted robbery to police Monday night, authorities said Tuesday morning. A victim said he was walking along the street when he passed a group of six men drinking outside, according to police. A New Canaan man was arrested after turning himself in Wednesday evening for his role in a fight that took place in a Stamford parking garage that left one man with a stab wound to the neck, according to police. Police say they've arrested a city teen on after he and four others reportedly shot a 16-year-old boy with a bb gun and then smashed his car with a baseball bat. Police are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred at a party on Morgan Street Saturday night. The victim, police said, arrived at Stamford Hospital with a deep laceration to the left side of his face. Stamford police arrested three city men early Sunday morning after one threatened a club bouncer and all three resisted arrest, according to Lt. William Hnatuck. A Stamford man was arrested Wednesday after turning himself over to police in connection to an incident that occurred this past February, authorities announced Thursday. Rudi Laaj, 22, of the 100 block of Spruce St., was arrested on charges stemming from a February 2, 2012 domestic incident in which he allegedly attacked his wife, police said. Police conducting a motor vehicle stop because of tinted windows ended up making two arrests Monday night after finding drugs during the stop, police announced Tuesday. Michael Wade Johnson, 31, of Vernon Pl., and Rodney Hughes Williamson, 43, of Springside Ave. in New Haven, were both arrested when authorities discovered marijuana and cocaine in the vehicle during the stop, police said. A man walking along Virgil Ave. was accosted by a group of 10 to 15 men Saturday evening, police said Monday. According to authorities, the men surrounded him as he was walking down the street and took the man's phone.They broke it, and one of the men proceeded to punch the victim in the eye, police said. According to police, a Bridgeport man was arrested early Thursday morning after the car he was riding in stopped for a traffic stop - that wasn't his traffic stop.
