The boys basketball team earned a split in the Northeast Christmas Classic, defeating Archbishop Molloy 81-70 Wednesday night at the Webster Bank Arena.
Schadrac Casimir scored 24 points and Jason Boswell added 22 for the Crusaders, who improved to 4-1. Trinity Catholic lost to New London 72-63 in the tournament on Tuesday.

The Crusaders started fast Wednesday, jumping out to a 20-12 lead after the first quarter. Molloy closed with 29-27 at the half.
Trinity Catholic's seven-foot center Paschal Chukwu overcame foul problems to record eight points, 10 rebounds and five blocks.

The Crusders, who built their lead up to as many as 13 early in the fourth quarter, put away the contest by making 28 of 33 from the line. They outscored Molloy 37-33 in the fourth quarter that dragged on because the Stanners continued to foul in an attempt to stay in the game.
Molloy, coached by the legendary Jack Curran, went 0-2 in the tournament and dropped to 7-4. It fell to St. Joseph, the state's top-ranked team, 74-63 on Tuesday.

Zach Fornaciari pumped in five goals as the Stamford boys hockey team outscored Lyman Hall 10-6 in a wild shootout at the Terry Conners Rink.
CJ DelVaglio scored three goals and Justin Nizolek and Sal Dipreta added one each for the Black Knights (1-2-1), who posted their first win of the season.
Stamford trailed 2-1 after the first period, but erupted for five goals in the middle stanza and four more in the third.

The RHAM girls basketball team defeated Stamford 33-25 on Wednesday in a battle of unbeatens.
Sarah Veilleux scored 14 points to lead the Sachems, who improved to 6-0.
Stamford, which played without injured starting center Kelsey Santagata, dropped to 5-1. Kelsey Cognetta scored 12 points to lead the Black Knights.

Stamford hosts Bassick in the championship game of the Kuczo tournament on Thursday at 8 p.m. in a rematch of last season's FCIAC title game.
Stamford reached the final with a 69-49 victory over McMahon and Bassick routed Westhill 71-46 in semifinal games on Tuesday.
McMahon and Westhill clash in the consolation game at 6 p.m.
