Silas Redd: Stamford's Own in Training [Video]

The King graduate hopes to become the first string running back for the Penn State Nittany Lions. Watch Redd train for the upcoming season.

Silas Redd wanted to play for Coach Joe Paterno at Penn State since he was in middle school. Redd, who graduated from in 2010 got his wish. He was recruited as one of the nation’s elite running backs, and had a strong freshman season, scoring his first touchdown during Joe Paterno’s 400th win in a game against Northwestern.

Redd, 19,  has been training locally this summer before heading back to Penn State later this week to begin preparing for his second football season. He showed Patch the beach training routine he practiced with personal trainer Chad Garret while he was home. The workout took a total 25 minutes with as few breaks as possible.

“It is a workout, and you can’t take too many breaks at work.” Garret said.
