Girl Scout Day at Beardsley Zoo

Girl Scouts will be able to journey throughout the zoo, learn about the animals, and participate in other fun activities at Girl Scouts of Connecticut's Girl Scout Day at Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport on October 29, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Girl Scouts will learn how the zoo helps save endangered species, participate in a scavenger hunt, and learn more about the connections between animals, water, and plants. The day's activities are featured around the "It's Your Planet - Love It" journey, which is part of a specialized group of programs that make up the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This experience helps a Girl Scout discover herself and her values, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place.

The registration deadline is October 21, 2011 to participate in this event. In addition, girls who are interested in Girl Scouting can be registered at the zoo for the upcoming season of activities, focusing on the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts.
