Requirements for applicants include:

• Be at least 18 years old, and graduated from high school
• Commit to volunteer at least 3 hours/week
• Commit to a minimum of 50 hours service within six consecutive months.
• Computer literate and comfortable; accessible by e-mail and willing to use our blog
• Be an avid reader, familiar with English language titles, able to identify books accurately by category, and enthusiastic about selling books
• Willing to tend shop, including: recommending titles; greeting and offering to help every customer; remaining vigilant over inventory, and willing to protect it
• Fluent in spoken and written English, and able to recognize easily all American coins and currency
• Dedicated to the Book Shop mission of selling books to raise money for the Friends of the Library
